• Try not to touch items with soot damage unless you have to. Soot can be embedded into items by touch until they have been pre-cleaned by a professional.
• Consult with an electrician before using any electrical items that may have been damaged by the fire or water.
• Do not consume any food, beverages, or medications that have been exposed to extreme heat or soot damage
• Change the filter in your HVAC return and place cheesecloth or a type of filter over HVAC registers
